No, CFS is not designed to be an incubation program for early stage startups. In fact, we work primarily with companies that already have a fairly mature and tested product/service. Our goal is to find existing startups and connect them with our clients’ business units. Our expert mentors facilitate the process and foster great collaboration between the stakeholders; however they don’t provide product advice.
Nope. There is no 'winner' or ranking in our Call For Startups. We are introducing curated startups to our clients. They can decide to work with 1, 2 or 10. We are not rewarding startups. The reward they get is to start a funded pilot or business relationship with one or several of our client’s business units.
Not really. The scope of a CFS is much broader than the scope of an RFP. If in an RFP, our clients express an immediate need for solutions by a vendor; the difference here is that clients are looking to work with more than one company since the goal is to source startups that will engage with different business units. Also, CFS corporations are looking for startups to fund, accelerate or acquire.
A Call For Startups is the best solution for any corporation interested in collaborating with startups. The benefits include identifying innovative suppliers for your business units, sourcing potential deals for your investment fund, bringing more applicants to your incubation program, and/or selecting potential targets for your M&A team.
We had a very specific need in terms of startup sourcing. We wanted to connect with European startups that could improve the digital user experience within airports, stadiums, highways and railways. They fully managed our call for startups that enabled our business units to run interviews with 130+ relevant startups amongst 400 applications. We have begun collaborating with 10+ of them.
